About this policy
Darwin Indoor Beach Volleyball (DIBV, we, us or our) respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, hold, use and disclose personal information.
Information we collect
We may collect identity and contact details; player, team, registration, attendance, fixture and finals information; booking and enquiry details; payment and account records; junior participant and guardian details; information voluntarily provided about health, injury, accessibility or emergencies; employment enquiries; and basic website technical information.
How and why we collect it
We collect information directly from you and, where relevant, from parents, guardians, captains, organisers, Spawtz and service providers. We use it to administer competitions, payments, bookings, events, communications, safety, staffing, website operations and legal obligations.
Website analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use our website and to measure actions such as calls, texts and enquiries. Google Analytics may use cookies or similar technologies and process information including pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser information, and interactions with the site. This information helps us improve the website and assess our marketing. See the Google Privacy Policy.
Disclosure and service providers
Information may be shared with authorised DIBV personnel, captains or organisers where operationally necessary, and with providers supporting Spawtz, hosting, email, payments, analytics, accounting, backups and IT. We may also disclose information to advisers, insurers, emergency services or authorities where appropriate or required by law. DIBV does not sell personal information.
Spawtz and overseas processing
DIBV uses Spawtz for player accounts and competition administration. Spawtz states that Australian customer information is stored in Australia or New Zealand, while backups or other processing may occur in the United Kingdom. See Spawtz’s privacy policy.
Children and communications
For juniors, we may deal with a parent, guardian, school or authorised organiser. We may send operational messages and, where permitted, relevant DIBV news. Promotional messages can be opted out of at any time.
Security and retention
We take reasonable steps to protect information using access controls, secure connections, updates, backups and limited staff access. Information is retained only as reasonably needed for operations, records and legal obligations, then deleted or de-identified where appropriate.
Access, correction and complaints
You may request access to or correction of personal information DIBV holds about you. Privacy questions or complaints can be sent to info@dibv.com.au. We will respond within a reasonable period.
